Hey y’all I am back at it again breathing life back into some classic closet staples to give you a fresh look at the items in your closet. This week I am talking about my favorite chambray shirt. It is a must-have for any wardrobe and can be styled so many different ways! I know we are still in the middle of summer heat but I wanted to show you some looks that could easily be transitioned into fall weather by adding an accessory or two. I had a hard time choosing the looks that I wanted to share with you because there are just so many ways to style this piece. The versatility of a piece such as a chambray shirt helps your closet and your wallet go a long way! Don’t have a chambray shirt? No problem! Here are some of my favorites that will not break the bank and you will be so glad you purchased later on down the road! Click the pic for details on each item! Look #1: Chambray on Dark Denim This is by far my favorite combination! It is classic chic and sometimes edgy with the right accessories. This look is so easy to do as well. You just throw on your favorite jeans with your chambray shirt and Voila! you instantly look put together with minimal effort. I chose my favorite denim skinny jeans for this look. This pair of jeans happens to be high-waisted. I love a good pair of high-waist denim because it defines and cinches in my waist and helps my legs in the length department which they can definitely use the help! What is even better about these jeans is that they come in curvy and modern sizes to accommodate the various sizes of every woman. Which as a curvier girl I appreciate this a ton. Hello pants that fit my waist hips and thighs! However if you are straighter through the hips and thighs then the modern cut is the one for you. Anyways back to the chambray shirt. For this look I chose to go with bold accessories. I chose my bright red tassel earrings and my red wristlet. I think there is something timeless and almost nostalgic about pairing red with denim. I think it also adds a little “oomph” to this monochromatic look of chambray on denim. However any accessories would work with this look because this pairing is like a blank canvas and can go any direction you choose to take it. You can style it to fit your mood for the day. I kept with the bold accessories by wearing my leopard print belt and grommet gladiator sandals. My sandals and belt are good neutrals (yes leopard is a neutral!) to balance and break up the blue without looking too busy and overdone.Look #2: Black Skinny Jeans/Pants Sunglasses For my second look I went for a more basic everyday look. Chambray and black denim or skinny jeans is always a classic look. It much like the dark denim is a blank canvas and can go any way you want it to go with the right accessories. I chose to take my look in the direction of fall colors and cooler weather styles. My black skinny jeans are so comfortable and should be in everyone’s closet! They feel like tights but look polished and put-together. I got mine from Stitch Fix. If you have always wanted to try Stitch Fix but have always been afraid to try it stop hesitating! Use this LINK to give it a try! I paired my look with my maroon Kate Spade purse and my leopard print loafers. This is just one color-print combo. I could have easily chosen to pair this with booties or different colored flats or even heels and this look would be completely different and another option for me to choose from when searching for what-to-wear. Continuing on my loafers are from Jane.com. I purchased them a while back so these are no longer available but I’ve linked similar options. For jewelry I went with a little bling. I love this necklace and have worn it on many occasions! It is the perfect touch to gussy-up any outfit! My sunglasses are from Nora NYC. They have a bunch of options to choose from and I have linked them above. Look #3: Boyfriend Cardigan If you can’t tell by now I love a good leopard print and if I can find any way to squeeze it into an outfit I will! That being said this look is definitely geared more toward cooler weather. I paired my chambray shirt with my favorite white skinnies my new favorite boyfriend cardigan in maroon (another favorite of mine) and pops of leopard and turquoise in my jewelry. Chambray shirts like mine are great to layer with in the fall because they lay nicely underneath cardigans and sweaters. Chambray can be worn with so many pieces because it truly is another just another neutral. I am a sucker for anything maroon (results of being a Texas A&M grad…WHOOP!) so when I saw this boyfriend cardigan I just had to pair it with my shirt. I like that this cardigan is longer because it hits below the hem of my shirt and is a great variation of your everyday cardigan. The color is also great for fall weather which takes your prized chambray shirt into the next season with you. I chose to style this look with my leopard block heels because it is still hotter than Hades in Texas. These heels are also super comfortable and are a great way to dress up any outfit with a slight heel. However I could easily trade my heels in for boots and have an instant fall-winter look. Look #4: White Denim and Blush For my last look and the prettiest color combo I paired my chambray with my white boyfriend jeans blush accessories and dainty jewelry. This look is definitely more “easy-breezy” with the soft colors and minimal jewelry. The blush accents soften the masculinity of the chambray shirt and boyfriend jeans polishing off this look with feminine touches. You really can’t go wrong with white denim and chambray. It is such a clean color combo and an easy pairing that is fool-proof. Again with every look that I have shown you the basic bones are similar and do not change too much but what makes each look so different and unique are the accessories and colors that they are paired with. This just shows you that you can take a look and transform it over and over by changing the accessories. For instance I could have paired this look with a cardigan or vest and my look would change ever so slightly but I would have another look using what I have in my closet. Speaking of what I have in my closet these blush beauties just found a new home in my closet! They are so soft and so comfortable and the color is to die for! These slip-ons are also on sale at Nordstrom for their Anniversary Sale so definitely snag them while you can! They pair well with so many different things and really bring the look together in this particular outfit. A great pair of shoes can make your outfit. That’s all for this week’s Fresh Look Friday!
